Brian Nicaud

About Me.

My name is Brian Nicaud, and I have proudly served the City of Slidell since 1990. Over the years, I worked in nearly every division of the Slidell Police Department, including Jail, Corrections, Records, Evidence, Patrol, Dispatch, and Public Information. Even after retiring in 2016, I continued serving as a reserve officer and School Resource Officer because my heart has always been with this community. I spent more than a decade as a D.A.R.E. Officer, teaching students about making safe, healthy decisions. I also assisted with the “Booze N' Cruise, You Lose” program for high school seniors and helped maintain our department’s CALEA National Accreditation. As Facilities Manager, I oversaw building maintenance, vehicle purchasing, and city equipment safety — responsibilities that became even more important after Hurricane Katrina. Throughout my career, my greatest joy has been the people of Slidell. I fell in love with this city — its families, its resilience, and its character. My wife, Leslie, and I raised our family here, opening our home to many children and teammates over the years. We come from generations of public servants, and service remains at the core of who we are. After prayer and reflection, I felt called to run for Chief of Police. I believe in strong leadership rooted in integrity, accountability, compassion, and a commitment to serving — not just supervising. My goal is to protect all citizens while also investing in programs that prevent crime, support youth, and build a safer future for our community. I am humbled by the opportunity to give back to the city that has given so much to me. Chief is a title — but SERVE is what I will do.
